(Toronto, On) – Humberview Chevrolet Buick GMC & Motorsports Brands and Humberview Volkswagen on behalf of DriveHG.ca are pleased to announce the following landmark Title Sponsorships. Working with Lake Ontario Offshore Racing, DriveHG.ca will be Title Sponsors of the Susan Hood Trophy Race and the Lake Ontario 300 Challenge. In addition, they are the Title Sponsors of the J/24 2016 North American Championship and J/24 2017 World Championships. These four prestige sailing races are held at the Port Credit Yacht Club of Mississauga.

The Susan Hood Trophy Race and Lake Ontario 300 Challenge, the longest fresh water sailing race in the world, will take place June 3rd -4th and July 16th-19th, respectively, at the PCYC. Additionally on September 8th to 11th, 2016, the J/24 2016 North American Championship takes place, while the following year we welcome the J/24 2017 World Championship races the week of September 15th to 23rd, 2017. With hundreds of boats not only from Lake Ontario but from around the world, these races will bring thousands of spectators to the PCYC and the surrounding community. We are excited to announce that this partnership with DriveHG.ca will take sailing in Canada to the next level.

About Andrew Lennox – General Manager of Humberview Chevrolet Buick GMC & Motorsports Brands
Andrew Lennox began his career in the automotive in 1988. He quickly discovered his passion for the business and went onto manage dealerships for BMW, Honda, Audi, Volkswagen, and General Motors for over 28 years. Andrew has been a General Manager since 2002. He joined The Humberview Group (HG) in the summer of 2014, and manages four of the HG locations. In that same year, Andrew was the recipient of the Dealer of the Year Award from Canadian Automotive Remarketing Magazine, and a winner of the VW Wolfsburg Crest Club Award in 2013.
Andrew attended Ryerson University’s Business Management program, and graduated from the North American Dealer Academy’s General Managers program in 2001.
When Andrew is not in the office, he with his wife, Andrea, enjoy spending time with their 4 grown children. He has been a member of the Port Credit Yacht Club since 2004 has spent his entire life surrounded by boats. Racing was in his blood at an early age, spurred on by his father Skip Lennox, a member of the Canadian Olympic team in 1964. Andrew has raced Opti’s as a kid, Lasers, various J boats in the past and is currently preparing a Shark for the Worlds next year in Toronto.

About Jim Leckie – General Manager of Humberview Volkswagen

Jim Leckie has over 25 years of experience working as an automotive executive. He has managed dealerships all over the world including the United Kingdom, China and Canada. Jim began his career in the automotive industry working as a Master Technician for AFN (Porsche GB) Retail Group in the UK. Today Jim acts as the General Manager for Humberview Volkswagen dealership on The Queensway in Etobicoke.

In 2016, under Jim’s leadership, Humberview Volkswagen achieved the prestigious Wolfsburg Crest Club membership. Humberview Volkswagen was one of 14 Canadian dealerships to receive this award from Volkswagen Canada. To be considered for the award, dealers had to meet Volkswagen Canada’s requirements in Operating Standards, Parts Loyalty, Financial Statements submission and Volkswagen Academy Certification. Jim has been a member at the PCYC for three years and eagerly waits for his first sail at the start of the season. He has participated in countless races, but most recently has been crewing on ‘Relentless’, a Farr 40. ‘Relentless’ has Line Honours in Lake Ontario 300 for IRC1, has won 7 of 9 Lake Ontario regattas, and notably last year, took ‘O Canada’ an Open 60, right to the line but lost overall line honours by a mere minute and twenty-nine!
